IMPORTANT NOTICE - St John’s Church, Little Gidding
In December when we put up the message about the closure of the church, we expected the church to reopen for Easter. However, the very wet weather has given the builders additional and significant challenges as the site has been very wet at times.
The workmen have had people come to the church, having travelled some distance. Regrettably, they can't allow people entry under any circumstances, as the drainage is currently being dug, the oratory isn't finished and the new work needs to dry out cleanly before people can walk on it. They have put extra barriers up to protect the site.
As we enter into a period of better (?) weather, the work in progress will come to an eventual conclusion and we will be able to open the church again.
If you are going to travel any distance to visit us, or even if you are local, keep checking on this page. The instant we know about the church being able to re-open, you will know.
We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment, but hope that it will all very soon be a thing of the past.
